Derek Goodwin has worked in the CNC machining industry for over 30 years. He served a four year apprenticeship in the U.K. while attending Carlett Park College of Technology, attained the Engineering Industry Training Board Certificate of Engineering Craftsmanship and City and Guilds Advanced certificate of Mechanical Engineering Craft Studies. Parts 1, 2 and 3 After returning to the U.S. he founded Goodwin Design and Mfg. in the heart of Silicon Valley, providing precision machined components to the High Tech industry for over 15 years. After selling his company in 2004, Derek joined the International Design firm IDEO, where he leads the Prototyping team. He also teaches CAD/CAM Programming at DeAnza College in Cupertino, CA. and is the founder of eapprentice.net
